Zac Austin is the Co-Founder & CEO of Pacifico Biolabs, a Berlin-based biotechnology company producing low-cost mycelium biomass as a drop-in solution for the meat industry. He began his career at McKinsey & Company in London, before serving on the UK Government’s Covid-19 Taskforce and helping scale Berlin-based e-commerce unicorn Razor Group. He founded Pacifico in 2022, backed by leading investors. Using a proprietary fermentation process that plugs into idle brewery infrastructure, Pacifico delivers a high-protein, high-fibre ingredient at a fraction of the usual cost. The company is launching its demo production site later this year.
