In our second edition of “Meat the Future”, we discuss the necessary tools, methods, and machinery both conventional and alternative protein producers are currently implementing along with innovative approaches for future problems. Besides digitization and automation, flexible work in manufacturing will also play a crucial part in the transformation process.
Together with leading professionals in science, technology, and manufacturing, we will look at common problems and possible solutions. Be part of a discussion about the most pressing issues of the protein industry.

The way we view, produce, and consume proteins has shifted. While many established companies are in the middle of their transformation process, others plan to make the jump. We invite you to join our debate on the challenges and chances the transformation from meat to protein production holds. You can look forward to our discussion about how the industry as a whole can adapt, the roles new stakeholders could play, and ways conventional and alternative protein producers can learn from each other. Together with leading industry professionals, we will look at best practices and possible challenges to “Meat the Future” of an entire industry.

Carlotte Lucas, corporate engagement manager, supports the food industry to make delicious and affordable plant-based meat available across Europe, and prepare the sector for the arrival of cultivated meat. Carlotte leads the Good Food Institute Europe’s corporate engagement work, connecting with companies and investors across Europe to encourage investment and innovation in sustainable proteins. She is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and her background is in change management consultancy with Deloitte supporting companies and stakeholders through large-scale transformations.

CEO, Danish Crown Germany

René Olsen, born in Aarhus, Denmark, 1973. He has a degree in Foreign Trade from Aarhus University and an MBA in Finance from NYU. He is currently living in Hamburg, Germany and was recently appointed as CEO Danish Crown Germany with head office in Randers, Denmark.

Designer, Speaker, Co-Founder, KindEarth.Tech

Ira van Eelen is a designer, speaker, and co-founder at  KindEarth.Tech, a privately-funded non-profit organization that accelerates the new protein industry through unique in-person and digital events. Ira is Board member and advisor of different companies (JUST) and foundations (InVitroMEat Foundation, Cellulaire Agricultuur Nederland) and fellow at NextNatureNetwork. As the daughter of Willem van Eelen, the Godfather of the CellAg industry, her legacy over four decades at the forefront of cultured meat, drives her to advocate the urgency and huge potential of these innovations. Her father’s original plans incorporated the important role envisioned for existing farmers. It is this vision that made RESPECTfarms come to life.

Dr. Matthias Moser, Managing Director Food Ingredients, Stern-Wywiol Group

Dr. Matthias Moser is a member of the Management Board of the Stern-Wywiol Gruppe and is responsible worldwide for the Food Ingredients Division with seven individual companies, including the new company Planteneers. Planteneers was spun off from sister company Hydrosol in September 2020 with a focus on innovative plant-based food concepts in order to concentrate fully on this fast-growing food sector. With a PhD in natural sciences and a good 20 years of experience in various functions and areas of the international food industry, he is an expert in Food Specialty Ingredients.

CMO, Veganz Group

Moritz Möller, looks back on many years of marketing experience in the culture and entertainment, travel and technology industries. Before joining Veganz Group AG, he worked for over 16 years in cultural management, as well as a freelance marketing consultant. In April 2018, he took up his position as Head of Marketing and eCommerce at Veganz and is now CMO responsible for marketing and product management. He is a recipient of the Apps4Berlin Award 2011 and the Marketing4Future Awards 2020 and 2021.

Dr. Nino Terjung, Head of business unit Product Innovation (German Institute of Food Technologies), helps with the consulting of industrial customers. They fulfill the wishes of start-ups and develop convincing products from the product ideas of the founders. But also established companies in the food industry find help with problems or the creation and further development of products or processes. There are no limits to the imagination, the institute works in all areas of food technology.
